Hello!  My name is Rosanne Kraus and I work with the students in the computer lab here at Hilton Elementary School in Brecksville, Ohio.
I graduated from the University of Dayton in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with concentrations in Biology and Health.  I taught 7th and 8th grade at St. Louis Elementary School in Cleveland Heights for 3 years, and at Trinity High School for another 3 years.  During that time I married my husband of 20 years, Don.

     After teaching for 6 years we started a family and I decided that I wanted to be home with my children so I took a break.  We have 2 children Ryan, 16, who is a 10th grader at Brecksville/Broadview Hts. High School, and Caitlin, 12, who is in 7th grade at the Middle School. The students here at Hilton, as well as, my own children would not forgive me if I didn't also mention another member of my family, my dog Ray!  He is a 5 year old, 12 pound, gray poodle who has been a special visitor in the lab. The students are very fond of him!  After taking some time off to raise my kids I started back to work as a teacher's aide and finally worked my way into the computer lab.

     I love working here in the computer lab.  I never thought of myself as a "techie", but I have a logical mind and a strong sense of determination which are both necessary for work with computers.  Working here is a nice combination of working with the students, a well as, running the computers and the programs.  I provide as many incentives as I can to encourage the students to work hard and try their best everyday.  I also enjoy helping the teachers design appropriate projects to match their curriculum.  I learn something new everyday!!
